ATLANTIC SURF LIFE:
Atlantic Surf Life is about sharing my surf experiences with you. May it be through a surf trip, local news, bikini Models, art, music or video. At Atlantic Surf Life we are committed to delivering the news and documenting East Coast History. It took me a long time to finally start shooting surfing but my friend Tim Garvey final convinced me to build this website.

This is a new website and it is in it's Beta stage, so expect changes and feel free to share your opinion. We would love to see your photography and please email us some comments at atlanticsurflife@gmail.com. So please excuse any typos and broken links but please inform me of them. Between this website and my job, I am raising to little groms, and keeping my wife happy 24/7. It seems like a lot but it's going to be worth it and I love surfing to much not to build this site.

Some History About the Editor: Paul DiMarco
While I was a kid I had to drive 30 minutes every weekend in the summer so I could go surfing in the Atlantic Ocean. Learning to surf in New York wasn't’t easy. I can remember my mother wanting me to wear a life vest the first time I went surfing when it was two-foot at West End II. It was always cold and crowded and the waves never really delivered.  It was New York surfing, no Internet, just 1-888-976-SURF and pray that there were waves when you got to the beach. I grew up in a small town called Bayville on Long Island, New York. It’s on the gold coast of Nassau county 30 minutes from the closest Atlantic Beach. It sits between the Long Island Sound and Oyster Bay.

There was only a small group of us that surfed. Everyday after school or on the weekends we would make the trip to the south shore, covering east to west in search of ride able waves. When I finally got my drivers license I started traveling to different beaches and taking road trips to New Jersey and beyond. Then the surf trips started Puerto Rica, Costa Rica and Barbados. I quickly learned that being a surfer in New York meant you had to travel but at times surfing in New York was good.

About the Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic Ocean is something special. It’s the youngest of all the oceans, it’s the first ocean to be crossed by ship and airplane, and it causes the highest tides in the world. Being a surfer on the east coast of the United States has taught me a few things. That you can’t just sit around and wait for surf, you’ve got to travel. From the Right Coast of the US to the freezing waters of Iceland over to France then down to Africa West to the warm Caribbean waters for your choice of island surf then back to the east coast for a cold winter session and Moms cooking. Being on the move is a must when you’re an Atlantic Surfer.
